Genesis 1:1-2
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Genesis 1:3 (The first day)
And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

Genesis 1:6 (The second day)
And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water."
(The expanse is referring to the sky)

Genesis 1:9 (The third day)
And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear."

Genesis 1:14-15 (The fourth day)
And God said, "Let there be light in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark the seasons and the days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth." And it was so.
(God created the Sun and the Moon)

Genesis 1:20 (The fifth day)
And God said, "Let the water teem with the living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky.

Genesis 1:24,26 (The sixth day)
And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so.

Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

Genesis 2:2-3 (The seventh day)
By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
