Leaving for Nash-vegas, and Then One day at a Time...
Eric and I just ate dinner (my lovely Momma made an awesome roast with kartoffel knudel and rot kole!) with neighbour Ronnie, my sweet friend Kate, and my dear ole Dad. We stopped in Tennessee after two weeks of visiting the Toombs and the Henschens in Cincinnati! It was very hard to leave them all this morning... On the road tomorrow, we will leave my folks and head to Nash-vegas to visit with my brother Greg and his wife Anja, and then Friday, it's the Big Easy, baby! N.O. Otherwise known as N'awlins. We decided to take a city tour, and my request is only to sip some coffee (decaf for now, please) and nibble on some bignets (sp?) at Cafe du Monde. It's the thing to do, and I love to people watch! Last time I was there, I saw a man painted gold acting like a statue. He was really good! ;D
The laptop ain't comin' with me so my Pa will be givin' you updates from the road, and then in April, from the Pacific Crest Trail. He made us a Pacific Crest Trail or Bust sign with our picture on it to take with us!!!
From here on out, stay tuned for updates from New Orleans, Texas - Big Bend National Park, New Mexico - Gila Wilderness, Arizona - Grand Canyon National Park, Utah - Bryce and Zion National Parks, California - Joshua Tree and Redwood National Parks, Oregon - the coast, Washington - Mt Rainier and Olympic National Parks. After we park the car in Seattle and take an Amtrak down to San Diego and the Mexican border, hopefully, you will read about our experiences by foot through Cali, Oregon, Wash, and Canada along the Pacific Crest- that's if everything goes as planned...which never happens. Let the adventure begin!
