you all know what one of the best feelings is? satisfying a craving. Wednesday night, randy and i tried to go have dinner at Ernie Jr's Taco House, cuz i was really feenin for a chimichunga, but by the time we go there the damn place was closed! boooooo...we ended up heading to Thai BBQ instead, but man - i was still craving that chimighunga!

anyways, i got my chimichanga today!! yay! after mass, my dad took me to ernie jr's and i finally got to satisfy that crazy craving of mine. yessssssss...im a happy girl.

man...if anyone gets the chance to see New Edition in concert with Brian McKnight this tour, check them out!!!

New Edition totally rocked the place with their old school stuff. the Ampitheater was packed and standing up during NE's whole hour long set. The crowd went crazy when we heard Candy Girl, Cool It Now, and all the old jams! let me just tell you all that i have re-found my love for Ralph Tresvant. I loved him when i was younger, but when they sang Sensitivity tonight, i was screaming like a little bitch! that was the jam when i was younger!!! it was really great. then NE closed with a classic BBD song - Poison. i fuckin loved it.

on the flip side, the BM portion of the concert was a lot more tame. A lot more quiet, more relaxing, which generally woud've been good, but he came on after NE got everyone hyped up. eh. BM always, always, ALWAYS sounds awesome, so i cant really complain. Luckily, due to the nature of his music, i got to spend the rest of the night sitting in my comfy seat. dude, we actually saw a guy propose to his girl during one of the songs! it was pretty cool. there's no better time to propose to your girl, than when BM is standing somewhere behind you singing sappy love songs. it was sweet. what was cool about the night was that BM had a little acoustic set and he even made a joke about it saying how you hardly ever get to see a group of black guys sitting around with guitars playing and singing. it was funny. One Last Cry and Back At One really sounded beautiful acousitc.

good times man...good times.

before anything else...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONICA!!!

we're a year closer to the legal drinking age! the time is finally coming when we'll be able to legally go to a bar together without having to worry if we'll get caught for sneaking your ass in. wow. i cant believe that you're already 20. i still remember the little girl at st. doms...then the scared youth starting confirmation, now i see the confident young woman, experiencing life. i'm so lucky and proud to be a part of your growing up. i love you girl!

aaaaanyyyywaaaaaysss...

my vegas trip to see m5 is now definate. i just booked the airfare for aileen and i. we'll be flying out saturday afternoon, instead of driving friday night after the josh kelley show. we'll take the shuttle from the airport to the MGM Grand where were staying (and where the concert is), get a little bit of rest, then head out to the concert. my friend chris (or my new friend actually), is going to be in vegas that weekend for a movie premire at the Palms (he was the Asst. Producer for the movie), and we're gonna hook up with him and his friends after the concert. it's gonna be a fun night hopefully. after a night of partying, we're gonna crash at the hotel (if we make it there) before flying back home sunday morning, in time to catch josh at the HOB again.

im excited!!! josh kelley, m5 then drunken partying at the Palms, then josh kelley again...it cant get any better than this!!

i had a new experience tonight. it was pretty cool. tonight, my friend monica took me to the "Poetry Lounge" on Fairfax. It was definitely something that I never really thought of going to check out on my own, so i was really glad monica suggested it. a couple of years ago, when i was talking to a couple of friends, i made a conscious decision to get out there and try new things - to get "cultured" as people say. so when monica suggested i check out this spoken word thing, i figured what the hell. even if i didnt like it, i'd be able to say i'd tried it.

man. it was definitely a good experience. to be honest, i was thoroughily prepared to hate it after seeing someone else's version of "spoken word" recently, and i was actually ready to cancel on monica after finding out that tanya was flaking on us again. im glad i didnt though. the people we saw tonight were soooo good. it was amazing to see how much of their heart and soul they poured out into their poetry. it was a beautiful sight to see them onstage, in front of not just a packed crowed - but an overflowing, one at capacity. my god, as we walked out there was a huge crowd outside just waiting to get in. definitely a good expericence. this really tells me that i need to really get back to working on getting out there and experiencing the LA life. it's a wealth of different types of entertainment and ideas. it's time i start taking advantage of living in one of the most creative cities in the world!

im such a crybaby...

wow...i just finished watching the season finale of jack and bobby and i was reminded of what a crybaby i am. this ep was sooooo good. it was pretty obvious though that the creators and writers of the show arent really holding their breath for a season renewal. the season finale was a perfect ending for the short-lived show (if it really isnt going to be back next year). jack's meeting his dad was sooooo touching, it had me tearing up listening to his dad tell him how he knew everything about him. Lou Diamond Phillips as their dad - that was soooooo perfect! I never would've expected that. Then the whole future story line of Jack's life and eventual death. Perfect. Shot in a convenience store robbery - the same reason his dad was in jail. perfect. oooooo...and not to mention the Jack/Courtney story line - i couldnt have asked for it to end better. loved it

anways...in RL - im seriously feeling very lazy. im having one of those "i wanna just hole up in my room watching my tivo'd shows and catching up on my netflix" kinda nights. i feel like being anti-social. but i cant. i have "responsibilities" - familial duties. gotta meet up my cousin and his friends for dinner tonight to celebrate his finally graduating from USC (fight on!) - YAY KUYA!!! quite proud of him actually. he and i dont always get along, but he's still a good guy, and i know he'd do anything to take care of me. it's family. it's an obligation. hopefully it'll be good times for all of us - and hopefully i dont end up spending a shitload of money on drinks and dinner.

damn, i need to figure out what im gonna wear already. im gonna be soooooo late.

i think i have the worst luck. i washed my car last wednesday - after about a year of not washing it - and it rained on friday. i went and got an oil change on tuesday, and they threw in a free car wash, and it rained/is raining today.

i think my washing my car should start being a sure indicator to the rest of the world that it's gonna rain in LA within the next 2 days. im so irritated about this.

i love, love, LOVE seeing tony perform live. he always puts on a great show, and as an added bonus, i was standing next to one of the hottest guys in the room - Joe Firstman - until he got tired and sat on the floor, but then i still had a great view of him so it was all good.

anyways, tony played a good set tonight. here's what he played (as close to the order as i can remember, and as much as i can remember - im horrible at remembering set lists):

Death of Me
Hollywood Chain Gang (yay! one of the best ones, right Jody?!)
Darlin' I
So Long
Strong Chemistry
Shotgun
Jolene
Still Crazy
Some Joni Mitchell song
Feels Like Love
Lost Angeleno
Bottle of Rain
Around the Bend
Two Trains

...i think that's it....but i'm not sure. that's all i remember for now. if i remember anything else, i'll update this list.

also, so my "friend" there. she's not really that friendly.

im counting down the minutes for this day to end. it's going to be a loooong week. im super excited though. tonight we're going to a taping of the late, late show with craig ferguson. i love those things. it's the easiest way for our group to do some quick fundraising. $15/person just to see an hour long show? it'll be good stuff. i hope the guests are good. i honesly have no idea who's gonna be on, im just going cuz they're paying us to. heh.

thennnn...after the taping, kookee and i (and maybe mark and arnel) are gonna meet up with aileen then head off to the tony lucca show at the hotel cafe! yay! im excited...

tonight tony, then Maroon 5 on sunday!!! woohoo!!! hurry day, go by already!!!
