The Basics

First things first!
After the hostess of the month prepares a yummy but moderately low-calorie spread, the rest of the freaks arrive with cocktails.

No losers!
Gifts are for the 2 winning and losing players. Even if you are a loser, you're a winner! The annual tournaments being the exception - losers buy the winner's drinks.

It's you're birthday?!
Check to see if your name is on the calendar below.

Basic Bunko Scoring Rules for Freaks

• Take 8 score sheets and secretly draw a star on four of the sheets. Have each person pick a score sheet, this will tell you who will be starting at the head table. The remaining 4 players can sit at the losing table.
• Each table is randomly divided into 2 teams. Team couples sit across from each other. Pick one person on each team to tally points during each round.
• The head table controls the pace of the game. The game begins when the head table shakes the maraca. One player from each table starts the game by trying to roll 6’s with the 3 dice. Always take your roll using 3 dice. If one of the die is a 6, tally 1 point, if 2 of the dice are 6’s, tally 2 points.
• When you roll three of a kind, this is a Bunko. The Bunko is worth 5 points. Keep rolling and collecting points. Also if a player rolls three of a kind each die is worth 1 point so all players at the table must scramble to grab the dice. Therefore if the team that rolled the Bunko rolls three of a kind and collects all 3 dice, the total for the team would be 8 points; 5 points for the Bunko and 3 points for each of the dice collected. Do not forget to give yourself, not your teammate, one Bunko point on the top of your score sheet after your turn is finished. If at this time or any other time a player at the head table rolls a Bunko, the maraca is shaken and the round stops. The other players currently rolling finish their turn and continue scoring.
• The play continues around the table with the number being rolled decremented by one with each turn. (6-5-4-3-2)
• If a player rolls three ones, their team loses all points accumulated in the round up to that point and a point for the Wipeout is marked in each teammate's scorecard.
• When the head table reaches 21 points or rolls a Bunko they shake the maraca to signal the end of that round.
• The winning team stays at the head table. Have one teammate move over a chair so they will have different partners for the next round. The losing team from the head table goes down to the losers table. The losing team at the pathetic losers table stays at the table but one player moves over one chair so they will have a different partner.
• At this point mark a win or loss on the top of on your own score sheet for that round. Keep your score sheet with you at all times. Don’t let it out of your sight. Your score sheet is your friend.
• If the teams have a tie there will be a roll-off to determine the winner. (See roll-off -- Bunko Lingo)
• Play continues for three complete sets. At this point, take a well deserved cocktail break and then continue the last three sets.
•The game ends when all SIX (yes, 6) sets of Bunko have been completed. Each player then adds up the their total Bunkos, Wipeouts, Wins, and Losses from each.
Here's a printable version of the rules.
