2004 NFL Strength of ScheduleThe Fantasy Football Freakwads staff have developed a very interesting and useful Strength of Schedule, that we believe will be much more useful and reliable than past SOS formats you Freakwads have become use to. We base our SOS on three important factors: Opponents last years records, Opponents points allowed in 2003, and Opponents Defensive Acquisitions. We take all these factors into account to give you what we believe is the Best Strength of Schedule available on the Web. So please enjoy, and use this when deciding between players in your draft or creating your own personal draft sheet. Hope you like it.

Teams with most favorable matchups
The Dallas Cowboys have the easiest typical s.o.s. at (.469 opp. 2003 winning percentage) and their opponents defenses allowed 21.26 points per game. Their schedule looks really nice with the worst being road games at Baltimore and Philly. The Eagles(.472)(19.77 opp. pts/gm allowed), have a good schedule despite 2 games vs. Dallas and a home game vs. Baltimore. The Steelers(.476)(19.79 o.p/g.a) are in the top tier because of their opp. 2003 winning percentage, but they have games vs. Miami, New England, Buffalo, Dallas, and Philly, not to mention 2 games vs. Baltimore and 2 vs Cleveland. So don't be fooled by opponents winning percentages, they don't always tell the whole tale. The Giants(.480), Bucs(.484), Titans(.486)(21.78 o.p/g.a), I really like their schedule, Browns(.488), Falcons(.488), and Chiefs(.488) finish up the Teams with the easiest of schedules. |
Teams with favorable matchups
The middle range of teams (.490 to .508) begin with the Denver Broncos(.490). The Broncos schedule looks great with games against Indy, Hou, Atl, Cin, and 2 games vs. Oak, and 2 vs. S.D. Might be a great year for Plummer and company. Their opponents allow a whopping 23.2 points/game, I better draft a couple of Broncos, and Shannon Sharpe is the first one to come to mind. The rest of the middle tier s.o.s. teams include Wash(.492), Car(.492), Det(.492), Chi(.496), Min(.496), N.O.(.504), S.D.(.506), G.B.(.508), Indy(.508), Cin(.508)(Opponents defenses only allowed 19.01 pts/game last year, that is brutal!), and Baltimore(.508). |
Teams with least favorable matchups
The Dolphins have the least desirable schedule based on their opponents win loss records last year (.531) Their opponents defenses only allowed 19.58 points per game as a whole, thats over half a touchdown worse than the Broncos schedule. Their schedule includes games on the road vs. Buff, N.E., Balt, Den, and S.F. Miami also has tough home games against Buff, N.E., Tenn, and Clev. The remaining teams, in order from the toughest schedule, are Ari(.523), Sea(.516), Jax(.516), N.E.(.512), Buff(.512), NYJ(.512), STL(.512), Oak(.512), SF(.512), and Houston(.510). I really am going to avoid drafting players from the AFC East(Buff,Mia,NE,NYJ) and AFC North(Balt,Pitt,Clev,Cincy) this year. I believe they are the 2 defensively toughest Divisions in the NFL, and they all play each other this year. So for Ex: If I Draft Duce Staley, who I really like this year, he will play all his division twice and then still play all the AFC east. He might do well against Cincy, but them(Cincy) twice and Oakland are the only favorable matchups all year. I'll take someone else please, Thank you. |
