BETTER LIFE

She's got so many thing to do
There's no time for herself
She's got a family of three
But still they don't help
She wants her husband involved
But he sits with a vacant stare
Yeah she's married to a single man
Who thinks one is a pair
With the weight of everthing
Holding her down
She'd like to smile but she can't
Cause she don't remember how
So she tries to forget
Of the woman she was before
She says dreams are what you rent
From a video store

She's got dishes to clean
And floors to sweep and mop
She's got laundry to wash
And a bag mismatched socks
She picks the boys up from school
And tries to get them to behave
While she helps with their homework
Somehow dinner still gets made
With all that done and right
She still has happiness to pretend
So she kisses her husband goodnight
Tomorrow it's all done again

Deep down inside
You want to lay down and die
But don't let it pull you that way
Tomorrow will be a better day

And she thinks of all the time
She wasted on him
And she thinks of all the things
She wanted to be
And all the places she could have gone
And should have been
She won love but she lost
The part of her that was free

Deep down inside
You want to lay down and die
But don't let it pull you that way
Tomorrow will be a better day

Her eyes open to the sun
As she wakes from her bed
With thoughts of what might have been
Fading from her head
Then it stops and she smiles
Like she just heard her favorite song
She thinks oh what the hell
This is where I really belong

Deep down inside
You want to lay down and die
But don't let it pull you that way
Tomorrow will be a better day
Tomorrow just might be better
