Tribute to Vinnie Morisi

Our Paintball Friend
1954 - 2003



WILBRAHAM - Vincent R. Morisi, 48, of Wilbraham, died July 6, 2003, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born July 21, 1954 in Springfield, he was the son of the late Vincenzo R. & Evelyn (Lamica) Morisi. He was a 1973 graduate of the High School of Commerce and went on to receive degrees in law enforcement from Springfield Technical Community College and in hotel restaurant management from Holyoke Community College. Mr. Morisi was the founder, owner and operator of White Glove Catering for eighteen years. Previously, he had managed several area restaurants before starting his own business in 1985. His hard work, dedication, and vision earned White Glove Catering numerous awards and honors. He was named Business Man of the Year, and received the Best Caterer commendation by the Valley Advocate for eleven consecutive years. He was a member of the Chicopee Chamber of Commerce where he had served on the board of directors and was also affiliated with the Springfield Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his wife Mary C. (McCaffrey) (D'Attilio) Morisi, his three children, Anthony V. & Krista T. Morisi of Springfield and Michael D'Attilio of Wilbraham, a sister, Mary-Lynn Obrzut of Springfield, and his former wife Dianne Morisi of Springfield. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, meeting directly at St. Mary's Church of East Springfield. Rites of Committal will follow the Mass at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are scheduled for Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Rd., Springfield. The Morisi family requests that contributions in his memory be directed to the Joslin Diabetes Center at Mercy Medical Center, 299 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01101.
