A Page Now Devoted to Nightcrawler

This page was once Mngamojemo's Personal ummm Junkyard. Now I have DeviantArt for that. There are certain things from the Junkyard period that I am not willing to give up- quiz upon quiz, for example. Oh, those online quizzes are annoying, all right. Cherry pie this.
Damn. Should be introducing the Page Now Dedicated to Nightcrawler.
First off, why Nightcrawler? Because he's a cool guy, that's why. I mean, he's codenamed after a worm, and if that's not cool, I dunno what is.
So what started my obsession with the Amazing Nightcrawler, Licensed Character Extraordinaire? Well, the second Matrix movie, actually. This girl Tara who sat next to me in art class started claiming that the Twins from that movie were the greatest thing since sliced awesome. I needed to prove her wrong somehow, and X2 having recently been released, Marvel's Merry Mutants were on my mind. I had always played as Storm when I was a kid, being as how I thought she was sexier than Jean Grey, but Kai the Childhood Friend was always Nightcrawler. I mean, when we were playing with other kids. By ourselves we were just Costume Mermaid and Karate Cat.
Bah! Again with the digression! Anyway, I had also only recently found out that my memories of the X-Men cartoon show from the mid (early?) nineties were horribly off. They had the Danger Room in them, and a very short Nightcrawler on the team. So I figured, anyone I have fond but innacurate childhood memories of must be cooler than Twins in a movie I'd never even seen!
A year later, Tara conceded I was right. During the course of that yearlong arguement, I did all the Nightcrawler research possible, up to and including sexual fantasies. In the process I kept buying comic books, despite having an income of about ten bucks a week. That's beside the point. Always with the beside the point. On to the linkage!

Immortality
7-.
'Twas the night of the full moon, and out by the wood
Not a person was stirring, 'cause nobody could.
The crayons were placed in the woodstove with care
In the hopes that the art dealer soon would be there.

The children were staring, eyes wide in their heads
As ghostly tarantulas danced on their beds.
Mom had her kerchief, and all of that crap
And in case of a raid we'd prepared to move fast.

When down by the road there arose such a clatter
I sprang out the door to see what was the matter!
But it wasn't important, only a crash
So I sat back awhile and lit up some hash.

And after the cars were obscured by the snow
A hole in the roadside I noticed to grow;
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But a peg-legged wyvern; it was then quite clear

That my hash had been laced, and I had no doubt
Some enemy wanted to make me freak out
But there was no chance that my drug-addled skull
Would give way to this, in comparison dull-

On acid! On reefer! On moonshine and speed!
On mushrooms! On poppies! On lotus and weed!
I'd never come down since I'd first gotten stoned
And so my endurance was quite finely toned.

But like that one moment when your life passes by
So swift from the hole did a thousand bats fly!
They dragged right behind them the vessel they drew;
'Twas a ship full of fools and the Lizard King too.

It took me a moment to get back my breath
(With dope I'm OK, but bats scare me to death)
Then I drew in my pipe and recovered my ground,
The music was over, the lights had gone down.

He was draped in a shroud from his head to his foot
And the shroud was embroidered and looked pretty good.
A sackful of snakes he pulled out from the back,
And looked like a witch doctor opening the pack

There were adders and cobras- all poisonous, very,
But the King didn't seem to see anything scary.
From the forest, predictions started to flow-
But I could not hear them, for the woods spoke too low.

Even though it was senseless, I still felt at ease
And quite nicely hidden in the dark of the trees-
I've always been known for my well-nourished head,
It's been years since I felt there was reason to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his task
And fed all the serpents, then drank from a flask.
He then lay a finger alongside his nose.
This was the signal, and away the bats rose.

They sprang to the sky, and the rode on the storm
To a place in the sun where it was safe and warm.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he melted from sight,
"Let's just sit back and watch as these lunatics fight."
