Visitation

There's something in my head.
There's something in my heart.
There's something between my mind and soul
tearing me apart.

I can see the light so clearly.
I can almost touch the flame.
I can smell and taste the terror
and I know I am to blame.

Beads of sweat drip down my head.
My arms and legs are shaking,
and now I'm using all my strength
to keep the life the creature's taking.

Now as I lie here quiet and still
I have no need of hesitation.
The creature stalks my room again,
ONCE MORE a visitation.

The fear has set me solid.
No tears that I can weep.
I simply lie here wide awake,
afraid to go to sleep.

ONCE MORE a visitation.

The fear has set me solid.
No tears that I can weep.
I simply lie here wide awake,
afraid to go to sleep.
