Candle Rain--an awesome band
**Candle Rain has changed their name. To what they changed it to, I will not state, because they will always be Candle Rain in my heart.**
Candle Rain is an awesome band, that I am very good friends with the guys. I met the guys at a Christian concert venue, Gathering Grounds, where I work. Candle Rain consists of: Scott Berry, Scott Kaschner, Ben Van Alstine, Shawn Barrett, and Chad Berlean. Their sound guy, Adam Diener, is a close friend of mine. Candle Rain is based in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. They describe themselves as Alternative/Rock. And they say "Candle Rain is about investing time in the youth of today through music, and about using music to offer the love, hope and peace that can only be found in Jesus Christ. We are all musicians, but more importantly, we're Christians. We are by no means perfect, but we strive daily to keep God first in every aspect of our lives. Numerous situations brought us where we are today, but the common thread that joins us is Jesus."
When I walked in the doors of Gathering Grounds, I set my stuff down at the door, which is MY territory, and I see a guy, and he says "hey" and smiles at me. That was Ben. Then I went around and met all of Candle Rain, and I loved them!
Here's a little info on each of the guys:
- Scott Berry is an awesome guy. He's engaged to Kim, who is the coolest person!!! When my best friend Sara introduced herself, she said "I'm Sara, with no H." and he said "okay, so you're No H." and I introduced myself and said "I'm Bethany, not Beth." and he said "oh, so you're Any." So we had to think of a name for him. We eventually came up with Scootie, and we still call him that to this day. Scootie's the bass player. What is it with bass players????
- Ben's really cool..as I said earlier, he greeted me and smiled, and I immediately liked him. Ben's voice is so...amazing. He's really nice, and really funny. I don't know him as well as I know the others, though...I guess I'll have to work on that...
- Shawn's awesome..he remembers that I'm Any, and Sara's No H..Shawn does background vocals, and when they're playing "I Ride Shotgun", I just love when he does the "whoa-oh-ohhh"...He's a really nice guy...and in the blue shirt (on the Pics Page) he looks so great in it...hehe...they just go well with his eyes...*sigh* just kidding..LOL
- Kaschner's so hilarious...he has the craziest quotes in his bio on their site...I use some as my signature for email...I've talked to him on the phone...that was fun...all I remember basically is that he said "bogus" and that he was looking at the puddle in one of his quotes that very day...
- Now, Chad...hmm...we never really talked much, until a few months ago, when I called his house(I was playing detective)...we chatted a little, and that was awesome!! He's really cool!!! He's normally quiet, but I got him talking...such a cutie!!!
- Then there's Adam. He's awesome!! Hey Adam, moo thrice!!!! Adam's the only one that consistently
e-mails me and Sara...did I mention I love that guy??? We hang out with him at Gathering Grounds..mostly because they have their own sound guy at GG...But he does it sometimes...
