Foo & Sharon

Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters front man) will be behind the camera to direct the new Foo single "All My Life" from the new album "1x1" (one by one). The new album is due out October 22, but taping for the video begins in Los Angeles the week of August 12. Grohl is no amateur when it comes to directing, since he did the videos for "Monkey Wrench" and "My Hero".

Richard Patrick really loves the diversity of America. This is clearly reflected in the new LP "The Amalgamut" and also by the members of the band who agree wholeheartedly. This time around the band wanted to be more diverse and open in their musical abilities and sound. Patrick says," it's all about individuality and freedom and being able to do whatever the fuck you want regardless of how different it is from what everyone else is doing. When we were working on this record, I noticed how amazing it is that people can blend in so well in one culture, and I realized how much I love this country."

Osbourne news once again!! Ozzy has been told by manager/wife Sharon to hit the road. Ozzy was scheduled to take some time off to be home with his wife while she has chemotherapy, but hubbie has been told to get back to work on Ozzfest. Since Ozzy has been away System of a Down has been headlining the main stage in his absence. Ozzy planned on rejoining the tour August 22, but now he is coming back August 7 in Michigan.

Static X's guitarist Tripp Elsen will not be joining his other band the "Murderdolls" on their debut tour for their upcoming album. The concert is to kick off July 30 in San Diego. For now, Acey Slade of the band Dope will stand in for the guitarist for the duration of the tour.

Radiohead is allowing fans to choose which songs are to be on the new album. The band is showcasing 16 new songs during shows overseas, and will continue to try out more in shows to come. The tunes that the crowd react to the most will most likely be on the next LP to be released in March 2003.

Incubus And Audiovent Visit The Rock Shrink
Incubus and Audiovent not only have siblings in common, but also the same rock 'n' roll shrink. Members of the Calabasas, California groups have both visited Los Angeles therapist John Biroc in order to work out emotional challenges related to their chosen professions, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Audiovent frontman Jason Boyd tells, "We'd been having problems at the time within the band and we realized that the way we were communicating wasn't helping the situations at all. So our bassist said, 'Why don't we try doing this?' So we went in and it was the best thing we ever could have done. We learned how to talk to each other. We learned how to communicate without yelling at each other and letting egos get in the way or anything really. We just really just were honest and just not really hurtful when we spoke to each other."

Buckcherry Break Up
Los Angeles quintet Buckcherry have called it quits after lead singer Josh Todd unexpectedly left the band to pursue a separate musical career. The band, which formed in 1998, had its first success when its self-titled debut album, driven by the hit single "Lit Up," went gold in 1999. Buckcherry released Time Bomb in 2001, which yielded radio hits, including "Whiskey in the Morning" and "Ridin'."

Following a spring tour, the group had been writing songs over the past few months, but according to a statement, Todd had grown disappointed with the results.

This past April, Todd and Buckcherry band mate Keith Nelson teamed up with Guns n' Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum -- billed as "Cherry Roses" -- at a tribute concert for the late drummer Randy Castillo (Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue).

In addition to musical pursuits, Todd had taken on some acting work over the past year, landing small parts in The New Guy and The Saltan Sea.

Future plans of the other Buckcherry band members and Cherry Roses have yet to be announced.

The Murderdolls On Tour
The Murderdolls, featuring Slipknot's Joey Jordison and Static X's Tripp Eisen, will preview songs from their upcoming album, Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls, with a series of shows in late July and early August. The group has 10 shows on the itinerary beginning July 30 in San Diego. Most of the destinations are in the western U.S.

Muderdolls vocalist Wednesday 13 compares the live show to "the final scene from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, where it's just complete chaos--people screaming, chainsaws running down the road, people getting hit by trucks."

The band cites a horror-flick inspiration for the album as well, claiming Friday The 13th and Night Of The Living Dead helped shape lyrical themes. "We're like the musical equivalent of being kicked in the f--kin' teeth," Jordison says.

Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls arrives August 20 from Roadrunner Records.

July 30 - San Diego, CA - Epicenter
July 31 - San Francisco, CA - Slim's

Marilyn Manson New Release
Marilyn Manson has completed the recording of his next release, The Golden Age Of The Grotesque. Aside from handling the vocals, the shock-rocker plays drums on one song.

"Today I learned how not to play saxophone. I even drummed on the title track of the album," wrote Manson on his website, marilynmanson.com. "I recorded (bandmates) Pogo, John5, and Skold chanting two-letter words. We are moving 13 songs to a mix studio this week to make our final descent, so please raise your seatbacks and tray tables."

Manson's The Golden Age Of Grotesque is slated for release in the fall, and he's also readying a DVD and a pay-per-view special. There's no word as to when the latter two will be released.

Colons & MP3's
After Sharon Osbourne underwent surgery to remover one foot of her colon due to cancer, she finds out that the cancer had spread. Her surgeons removed two lymph nodes in the area that had the cancer in them. Sharon will now being at the end of July three months of chemotherapy. At the time hubbie Ozzy was devastated at the news of his loving wife, that he actually had to be sedated by doctors. “Ozzfest” shows were cancelled due to the surgery but were unaware if they would reschedule. In other “Ozzfest” news, daughter Kelly Osbourne sings with Andrew W.K. the song “She is Beautiful”. This exclusive performance was witnessed at PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey on July 19. When asked as to why Andrew wanted Kelly to sing with him, he stated that it was his way of saying “Thank You” to the Osbourne fmily for allowing him to be part of the show.

System of A Down is certainly not a “downer” when it comes to online music sharing. Recently, 16 tracks off the soon to be released new album of SoAD outtakes leaked onto the internet and are being downloaded. When bassist Shavo Odadjian he shared his thoughts on online sharing. They weren’t good ones, but inevitably stated “that it’s all good.” “Fans want new music……they not be getting the best representation, though, its what the fans want. Finally it came down to the band deciding on releasing the album, but unsure of the title or release date.
