well, this past week has been a whirlwind of Oklahoma rehearsals, costumes, makeup, building sets...all culminating to tonight--opening night. the show is sold out for tonight and i believe friday night as well. things really have come together despite what people will tell you. the sound and lighting glitches are being worked out, etc. i'm excited to perform...i absolutely LOVE being on stage, and even though i am a seemingly insignificant chorus member, i still get to act. the main cast has had a few illnesses including kristin and kara, but they're doing better. kara is probably guzzling honey as i type, hehe. but they'll do great, i know it, because we have an AWESOME cast, so booyah.
aside from Oklahoma madness, the second semester of my junior year began on tuesday. guess what. i got into a different algebra class. ::jumps for joy:: yes, i dropped Perrin's pre-ap alg II. i almost feel bad about it......ALMOST. i am now in ms. shaw's algebra II. my life is at least 25% easier now, and my GPA will no longer suffer. i went to the class for the first time on tuesday, and its nice. i get to sit up against the wall and nap while they get caught up to the chapter where I was in Perrin's. mwahahah...i didn't even talked to mr. perrin about switching. oops ::fakes concern:: oh glorious, we're learning to factor! wow! factoring was from like, what, 8th grade? i love it. BWAHAHA.
alright, anyway. my exam grades (err, some of them) came in, and they were good for the most part. i didn't study enough for the history exam and pulled a 72. ::shrug:: physics = 86 (BEYOM! WOOOO) ... english = 88 (not bad)... ASL = 92. hurray!
haha, the yesterday in Spotlight we were supposed to be helping work on scenery for Oklahoma (how's that for last minute?) ...and of course H is running around screeching for us to work and if we're not doing something she'll put us to work anyway... so i did my fair share of work..HA. i stood on pieces of wood while Ryan sawed them, and then i stapled some ivy to the lattice. then i joined Leslie and Christine on the side of the stage where we pretended to be working and hammering staples into the floor for no apparent reason. hahaha. then it got carried away, where we stood by the lattice and started banging on it with hammers, like we were working so hard. haaah. then we tiptoed around and hid behind the set pieces and inside the houses to avoid H. it was hilarious.
fwa fwa...well, we're supposed to be in costume, makeup, and hair at 6:30, so that means I'll get there at 6:00, so that means i'll leave at 5:50, so that means I'm gonna go get something to eat. and if you haven't bought tickets to Oklahoma by now, BUY THEM! they don't sell them at the door. $10 (yeah i know it's steep, but it's good...2 hrs. and 45 minutes long.) so on that note...i fare thee well.
oh the farmer and the cowman should be friends...
yours truly,
- rach.
