now listening: "fa fa" - guster

so learning my all-region etudes gets me excited. no, not that kind of excited, i mean ... if i work on it for awhile, and it comes together, and i play it uptempo and i get happy. the joys of flute. i think we're going to do a christmas ensemble...i'm gonna go hunt down an alto flute/bass flute (i think hendrix has one or the other) and i'll play that. i love christmas music.

i downloaded and burned the most recent guster CD, "lost and gone forever." it's very very nice, so if you have similar musical tastes to me then definitely check them out. i discovered them through amanda b., so thanks to her! guster is a three-piece band of guys, and they're jewish. :D their music is very eclectic. the drummer doesn't use sticks, he uses his hands. their song 'fa fa' has this great sax part and this big fat flute improv at the end. i'm going to learn to do that stuff if it kills me ... lol. i'm gonna buy a t-shirt of theirs. and a rosenbergs tshirt, because they got groovy new ones.

i'm so insanely glad that we have next week off. i'm getting burnt out on school. i find myself collapsing on the bed, my hair still soaking wet from the shower, with some sort of book or homework strewn all over me. and then i jolt awake at 2 AM to turn off the light and the television, and brush my teeth.

i'm going to see the RHS performance of 'barefoot in the park' on friday night. i'm quite looking forward to it, because lez and my pals are in it/involved with it, plus it should be great anyhow. so i hope you are all planning on going to see it! if not, shame on you! afterward, i think i'm going to go see CoS at the 10:20 showing. so if you're up for that come along.

well, i ought to look at a bit of physics before dozing off. good night everyone, i love you all ... and if you have anything in particular that you want for the holidays then don't hesitate to IM me, because i like to have an idea of what to get people.

oh, and this vacation/weekend, i'm going to be doing something that i've wanted to do for a very long time...i'm basically making a little list of people and i'm going to thank them for various stuff. sounds cheesy i know, but i want you all to know how much i truly appreciate you and whatnot. (: anyway, good night.

lol, kara is sex-on-a-stick. hahaha, we have so much fun in english acting like morons. during that 90 minute period today, she managed to achieve three quote-worthy quotes for her journal. most of which made no sense, but were funny. the story of my life. we made a new system of quote-inducting...your quote has to be nominated by another person to gain quote-worthy-ness. second opinions may be needed.

OHMYPANTS...I MADE A 96 ON A PERRIN QUIZ!!!! yeaow! he looked at me and said "good job"!!! i almost died ... i mean, a 96, i can't believe it! i got a smiley face sticker for it, too! ::beams::

made a 91 on my english speech. pretty decent in my opinion. she liked my arguments. heck, she likes me.

ooh, i'm off to Target with mum to buy stuff. bwee! :D (tis been awhile since i've said bwee, eh?)

ARGH, does anybody know how to convert .mpg files to .mp3?!?! anybody?! i need a prog to do it so i can burn a CD ...

speaking of mp3's. here's what's been on my playlst lately:
-Garageland. anything by these folks is really very good. my favorites are 'not empty', and 'kiss it all goodbye.'
-Travis has released one new song, for some independent film or somethin'. anyhow, it's really good, it has mandolin in it. it's called "love will come through", and it's smattered all over kazaa and grokster right now, so if you are so inclined, or if you are an avid Travis fan like me, download it.
-The Shins. i've been getting their non-album tracks. 'eating styes from elephants eyes', 'my seventh rib', and 'those bold city girls.' good stuff. if you haven't, go buy "oh inverted world", their album. it's one of the best purchases i've made.
-Bishop Allen. i downloaded stuff off their website, and much to my dismay, they're all .mpg files. NEED CONVERTER THINGIE NOW! good ones are 'things are what you make of them' and 'ghosts make good friends.'

jeez, i woke up early today. 8 o'clock AM. at least i didn't have any nightmares...considering the protagonist's name in The Ring is, well, RACHEL, and that girl in the beginning of the movie HAS MY SAME EXACT ALARM CLOCK..yeah, the one with the silver ring around it..yeah, that's my clock.

I always hated that clock, it never wakes me up.

anyway...in my nonexistent free time, i'm going to work on a cover of the Growing Pains themesong. no, not a punk ::cringe:: cover, because punk is bland and boring and it's all the same. i don't play punk. i'm talking, just a cover-cover. i just want to make it updated-sounding, lol. because i like it, that's why.

i'm making a bagel and coffee right now, how about you ... ?

i have a beef with somethin'...its when chicks in commercials pretend that they can play instruments, like elec. guitars, and drums....it makes them look stupid and airheaded and increases that stereotype of "chicks can't play guitar/instruments." especially when its a commercial for Conair "quick wrap" thingies that braid your hair and put thread around it, or something. ::grumbles::

i really wanted to see harry potter again today, but no avail. i did, however, see The Ring. let me tell you..if you don't fancy scary movies, DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE. after having seen this movie, it is safe to say that i am pretty scared. i see a lot of scary movies (yet i dont know why, because often i lose sleep over them.) but this one, was especially scary, methinks. it had all the essential elements of a scary movie, and more. the "pop-out" factor, the "mildly gory/eww" factor, the "what the hell was that?!" factor, and the whole "plot" thing. lol. but yeah...the thing that was freakiest about it was that it involved televisions and video tapes and blah blah blah...things found in the home. and some of it was so abstract and eerie.. ::shudder::

ugh. it's 1 AM right now and i dont think i'm going to get much sleep. hoohah that was a scary movie. i was quivering through parts of it, and i did that thing i do when i'm scared, i bring my knees up to my chest and curl up in a ball, and attempt to latch on to something (or someone) and then cover my face, but i leave enough room for my eyes so that i can see..i never shut them, because i'm an idiot and i want to be scared and i want to see what's going on, so they're basically popping out of my head. eep.

so now i REALLY want to go back and be comforted by harry potter, lol. and yes stine, i have been rethinking and pondering my opinion of moaning myrtle...lol. i think at first i was slightly irritated by her because she's not how i imagined her, but i think i like the movie-version myrtle better than my imagination one. the movie one is cuter and she has a bit more attitude, and a "silkier" high quality to her voice. she was in bridget jones diary...she's like, 31 or something. amazing, eh?! and true. as for movie-ginny, she will always and forever suck. she defiles the character and makes her into this brainless little girl. stupid actress.

WHO WANTS TO GO SEE CHAMBER OF SECRETS WITH ME AGAIN TOMORROW...i need an excuse to go...my mom thinks it's ludicrous for me to see it this often. somebody come rescue me or something.
