WORK EXPERIENCE

May 1981 - October 1994 - Public Works Canada

Provided EDP technical support to the Audit and Evaluation Branch of Public Works Canada. Participated in the planning of audit assignments, developed specific E.D.P. audit programs andf utilized micro computers extensively in carrying out audit assignments on both existing EDP applications and major systems under development.

Participated in comprehensive, general and financial management audits of Informatics organizations and Data Centre operations groups. Audits resulted in acceptance of recommendations for making significant improvements to management and system control deficiences.







December 1979 - May 1981 - Department of Veterans Affairs

Participated in the developed of a large national communications oriented computer project called the Veterans' Services Benefit Delivery System. Project activities included responsibility for the development of a procedures manual, user manual and operations manual.



October 1979 - December 1979 - Data Logic

As a consultant with Data Logic, defined the requirements and designed a solution to the problem of automatically interfacing three financial systems operated by the largest Canadian trust company.



July 1965 - November 1978 - Transport Canada

During a thirteen year career with Transport Canada, progressed through a series of increasingly more responsible roles and at the time of resignation was Manager of Computer Systems Design Resources.



October 1958 - July 1965 - Welby Services

Performed as the key staff member of a small commercial service bureau. This bureau was wholly owned by the accounting firm of George A. Welch and Company and all the applications processed were financial.



July 1951 - October 1958 - Gamble Robinson Ltd.

During the last four years of this period, held the position of Office and Credit Manager. Managed a clerical staff of some fifteen people engaged in all facets of office routine.
