BIO:Moses White, Jr., son of Moses White, Sr. and his wife Mary (Campbell) was born in Ireland in c.1715. In 1722, a small group of "Newcomers from Ireland" were received by certificate into the Neshaming Presbyterian cogregation of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, included in this group were Hugh White and his brother Moses, Sr. Moses White, Jr. went to North Carolina after May 1, 1749, accompanied by his uncle. Moses White, Jr. settled on a branch of Davidson's Creek. The Davidson Creek Settlement, later to be in south Iredell County, was among the first in Lord Granville's Western domain. The earliest records of the Davidson Creek Settlement are those surveys for John Davidson, dated November 26, 1748, and John McConnell, dated December 1, 1748. Moses White was granted 650 acres on Davidson Creek, March 25,1752, and 306 acres, on December 21,1761. Moses White, Jr. married Mary McConnell, daughter of John McConnell, about c.1740 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He had a family of thirteen children (5 sons; 8 daughters). Moses White's Will made on June 14, 1783 and probated in 1786 is quoted " Wife Elanor to have livelihood on plantation and negro girl Barb. Sons David and William to have all the land with David to have negro boy Prince and William to have negro boy Samson. Son James to have 8 shillings (James had received 200 acres, February 18, 1769). Son John to have 8 shillings (John had received 100 acres, February 18, 1769 and Moses White, III had also received 200 acres). The following daughters to have 8 shillings each: Jean Templeton, Elizabeth Peden, Mary McCree, Sarah Willson. Other daughters: Cathrin Peden, Penelopy Morton, Elanor and Margaret White. (Moses White,III preceeded his father in death). Negroes Tom and Rose to be sold: Exrs: wife Elanor, sons David and James. Wit: James White, Samuel Peden, John Morton.
