Harmonytryx
An All Women A Cappella Ensemble |
Concert: Saturday, October 14, 2000 at 8pm |
What is more appealing than the sound of five harmonic voices singing a capella? Harmonytryx is an award-winning combination lightly-crafted harmonies, powerful solos, intriguing world music and imaginative originals. This womens a cappella ensemble sings an eclectic variety of pop, rock, jazz, folk, and soul, then adds something new to begin loving. Their intensity, humor and dazzling vocal technique has captivated audiences from coast to coast. The combined musical experience of members Erica Cohn, Callie Hershey, Christine Krupka, Angela Marcone, Becky Ndosi and Jennifer Starr totals over 90 years, but their gift is in making it all seem effortless.
This evening of entertainment is scheduled for Saturday, October 14, 2000 at 8pm at the Watchung Arts Center. Our upper gallery has the perfect acoustics for a sound so strong and melodic. Harmonies and vocal fun will fill the room while the high energy of these fine five ladies will excite and revive you. As always light refreshments will be served and our current art exhibits are on display.
The Founder, Erica Cohn sings bass and uses her amazing voice to produce percussion vocals. Erica sang bass with the Skidmore College Sonneteers for four years and produced the group's second album. After college, she hit the New Jersey coffeehouse circuit as a singer/guitarist. Soon after that Erika set out to gather voices for her ideal sound and be able to say, "Look ma, no instruments!" In 1991 Harmonytryx was born and has been acknowledged all over the tri-state area as one of the greatest folk groups around.
These combined voices will bring you closer to true folk sound then youve heard anywhere and they make it all look so easy... and sound so good. Want to know lots more about these great gals? Check out their web site http://www.Harmonytryx.com.
