Photographers are invited to submit one or two of their works to be
considered for exhibition at the Sixth Annual Juried Photography Exhibit for the
New Jersey Photography Forum. The
exhibit is open to any photographer able to hand deliver their work to the arts
center on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The entry cost for art center
members is $15. The entry cost to non-members is $25. Entries are limited in size to no larger than 30 by 40 inches
and should be professionally presented and wired for hanging.
Any entry over 20 by 24 inches must be framed with plexi-glass.
The chosen work will be on display from Nov. 1 to Nov. 30 at the arts center. The show itself will be curated by Nancy J. Ori of Berkeley Heights and Michael Creem of Summit. The judges will be Joel Morgovsky, a psychology professor, exhibiting photographer, lecturer and juror since 1977; Ellen Denuto, a professional photographer, exhibitor and lecturer and Helga Roberts, a fine artist, photojournalist, theater photographer and experienced juror. After the arts center show closes, this set of chosen works will then travel to Children’s Specialized Hospital in Mountainside where it will be on display for two months.
An opening reception for the forum group’s exhibit will be held at the arts center on Nov. 5 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Awards will be presented at this time. The reception is, as always, free and open to the public and will include light refreshments. Those attending will also have an opportunity to meet the displaying artists.
The New Jersey Photography Forum is dedicated to furthering the interests of both professional and serious amateur photographers living or working in the New Jersey area. The group is now in its sixth year of development and has become the largest and most recognized group of fine art photographers in the state.
The Forum holds monthly meetings at The Watchung Arts Center and encourages attendees to share their expertise while advancing their own skills. These meetings provide access to both creative and technical information. Professional presentations and demonstrations by manufacturers are given periodically. Photographers are also given the opportunity to display their work to be critiqued by others in the group. Exhibition possibilities within the fine arts community are explored as well. This is an invaluable resource for photographers interested in becoming exhibiting artists.
