~ What Do You Know . . . ~

. . . about this?

Welcome to my "What Do You Know" section!

Often I come across items that I attract my attention but have me pondering a few things . . .

what is this?
what was/is it used for?
who made it?
age?
worth?

So I am turing to you
Can you help me answer my mystery questions?

~ The Mystery ~

The Item

DESCRIPTION:
* Top diameter 9"
* Bottom diameter 7 3/4"
* Depth 1/2"
* Indented "CRUSTY PIE" , 16 indented "slots", 15 perforations on bottom
* 2 of the 3 have an indented number 1 ( shown in red square of pix )

Okay, obviously these are related to pies
but are they pie tins? pie dishes? pie plates?
what is the difference in these terms?
is the company "Crusty Pie" or is that just a neat little bit to pop up on the bottom of your cooked pie?
what time frame are they from?
they have been used ( I love this! ) so they have scratches on them
but what can I do to restore them a bit better?
what can I do to assure they stay in good condtion ( treatment )?
