A Variety of Good Music
Learning the craft of songwriting has been a lifelong ambition of Southern Maryland Singer/Songwriter David Norris. After years of honing a natural ability to express himself musically, this 'Tunesmyth' is begining at last to come into his own. Since winning Nashville's esteemed Chris Austin Songwriting contest at Merlefest in 1996, his music has been recorded by artists of notable quality, such as the Seldom Scene, Larry Sparks, IIIrd Tyme Out, Valarie Smith, guitarist Jim Hurst (Tricia Yearwood, Claire Lynch) and Blue Highway, among others. He has performed at the IBMA's songwriters showcase in Louisville, Ky., as well as Picker's Supply's Songwriter's night in Fredricksburg, Va. Rebel Records called his writing 'powerful and introspective'....... David has to date produced four albums of his own writings, often embellished with his own artwork. The Musical Art of Tunesmyth combines haunting lovesongs with finely crafted ballads from Americana. He is joined in Tunesmyth by vocalist Terri Nevins, instrumentalist Jim Frazier, fiddlist/bassist Joan Johnson, and percussionist/bassist Daryl Williams..... David has many other songs being considered for a variety of projects including a possible recording by Jimmy Buffet and movie soundtracks.
