We are business people. We sell products and try to make profits. This is the rule of the game. All time rule. But sometimes rules change when situations change and markets change and the whole world changes. In some particular cases, changes come from meeting people who influence your business and the way you do business, the way you think and how you try to reach your goals. Those are the businesslike, shrewd and common people who teach you the trade, who show you the rope and how to make money. And there is another kind of people, a far superior breed that can influence your whole life. So, for a short time, may be a little bit more, a little bit longer time, you start to think differently about yourself and your business, your neighbors, and your pets…
Maximillien de La Croix is one of those very rare and special people who make you think and rethink your life, your values and your priorities. As an artist, de La Croix is a giant. As a writer and an author, he is amazingly versatile, prolific and impressive. As a man, de La Croix is Man Of All Men! Bigger than life with a legendary generosity, compassion and a goodness bigger than the oceans we sail and the lands we inhabit.
De La Croix, the aristocrat who shared his house with the homeless…the man who fed the hungry and comfort the poor…the man who gave his life and assets to the blind, the weak, the orphans and so many orphanages around the world…the noble man who donated everything he owned to charity and the needy without asking anything in return.
Asked
about what should be written on his grave stone, de La Croix replied: “ I
did not come to the world to change it but to make it prettier and happier and
to help all those who need help and especially those could not return the
favor”.
We
represented de La Croix’s art as dealers and independent agents for quite
some time now. We did well. Business was good. De La Croix’s art was a good
commodity. This is as far as business goes with aspirations, successes, money
and limitations. However, when you talk about de La Croix the human being,
there is no limitation and measurements to goodness, successes in life and
real values. We
served the man as his agents. He served us better. He influenced the lives of
so many people who worked with us at the agency, exhibitions, sales
transactions and in the privacy of their homes and families. So many thanks
and gratitude we wish to covey to de La Croix and to his family for being a
part of our life. We learned a lot from him. We will keep on representing him
everywhere in the world, and everywhere in the world we will praise his name
and remember his wisdom and big heart. He shall not be forgotten! Our deep
sympathy to his family and his friends throughout the world, and God knows
they are so many.
We love to share with you some of this great man sayings and proverbs we found in the books he wrote about life, people and happiness of the world. De La Croix wrote:
