TAKES NEW WIFE TEN DAYS AFTER GETTING DIVORCE FROM OTHER
Rockford's first marriage under the new Illinois law permitting divorced persons to wed again immediately after securing a divorce was performed yesterday when Mrs. Edith S. Thomas of Mt. Morris, became the bride of William R. French of Rockford. The marriage ceremony was performed by Judge Fred E. Carpenter at his office in the court house.
French was granted a decree of divorce from Mrs. Mary S. French, Oct. 6, this year, by Judge Earl D. Reynolds in circuit court here, on a showing of desertion. The second marriage was performed at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon. [offered by Thelma Thomas Livingston/Carole Ann Heller]

Funeral services for William French were held at the cemetery in Ringwood, Wednesday afternoon, Rev. John M. Schneider officiating.
Mr. French passed away Sunday at a sanitarium in Rockford at the age of 46 years. He was born in Ringwood, Ill., and for the past twenty years has lived in Rockford. He is survived by his widow, one daughter, two brothers, Edward of Belleview, Florida, and C. Fred French of Woodstock and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Stevens of Ridgefield, and Mrs. Minnie Hutson of Rockford. [offered by Thelma Thomas Livingston/Carole Ann Heller]

Funeral Services for William French, who died Sunday at the age of 46 years, were held this morning from the Fred Olson undertaking rooms on Seventh st.
Barney Thompson conducted the service at the request of the Rockford typographical union, of which Mr. French was a member. He was formerly employed as a linotype compositor with The Republic.
Representatives from the three newspaper shops of the city attended the services. Carl Sauers and Henry Lambert for the Morning Star; Ernest Provancher and George Cram, for the Register-Gazette, and Wm Neeld and Elmer Jensen for The Republic.
The typegraphical union delegation also accompanied the body to its grave in the cemetery at Ridgefield, Mr. French's birthplace. [offered by Thelma Thomas Livingston/Carole Ann Heller]
