Spade family descendants have honorably and courageously served in the military from the Civil War to the present.

Akers, Earl McKinley
(1896 - 1989)

Earl was the second husband of the late Maude Marie (Spade) Hendershot Akers. In this 1917 photo, he was a PVT in the US Army in WWI.

I had an uncle named William McKinley Akers from Dana, Kentucky, were they related?
