Philip served in the 91st Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (G.A.R.) as a private from 1864-1865 from East Providence Twp., Bedford Co., PA. He was the son of Joel and Rebecca Wilkins (McDaniel) Clark, the father of Lewis Clark, and the husband of Sarah E. Seigle (Clark) and Ruhama Shaw (Clark). Philip was a second great-grandson of Samuel & Elizabeth Clark.
