AUSTRALIA or GLOBALISM
We live at a crucial time in Australian history: ominous environmental problems, overpopulation, loss of
identity and culture, mass unemployment, increasing foreign debt and foreign control.
Yet we know the answers.
Knowledge and technologies exist that can repair much of the ecological damage
in Australia and elsewhere. Ecological sustainability, social justice; cultural
enlightenment, political, cultural and economic independence are possible. Solutions
already exist that would greatly decrease poverty, purposelessness and ill-health,
that again would give a purpose to life and to the Australian community.
But our Quisling politicians are in the service of the vested interests.
It is in this context that the SOUTHERN CROSS GREENS were born.
Our movement is committed to advancing fundamental solutions to the environmental problems
confronting our Australian society. Care of the environment is our primary determinant for economic and
social policy.
The Southern Cross Greens offer a clear alternative to the politics of materialism and
consumerism.
Whilst our policies are visionary, they are also practical and realistic.They value our
Australian culture, our national community and the individual, and are based on respect for our native soil
and the knowledge that we are an integral and dependent part of the natural system.
The Southern Cross Greens believe Australia should build an ORGANIC NATIONAL SELF SUFFICIENT SOCIETY, as a model for a more equitable and ecologically sustainable world.
It is in our hands.
