In Memory of Bryan Knowles 1965 - 2001

The On-Line Memorial Service

The text of the on-line memorial was kindly collected and sent to me by HelenWheels.

AliBaba: I like what you said before, Hel - about not mourning his death, though we do that, but celebrating his life

IrateDwarf: Me too

JonnyT: yeah

Ingeborg: I never knew or met Bryan unfortunately--first heard about his death today...

Ingeborg: so I'm just lurking and listening

AliBaba: another thing I think of about him - his very clear and respectful love for his wife. Call me nutz, but to me, there are few things about a man that I adore more than seeing it clear that he is head over heels in love with his wife

AliBaba: maybe because I've seen so many bad marriages in my life

HelenWheels: I have an email message from Zenman that I'll share with you...

"Bryan was a person that made a difference in the places I call home on the net. He shared his faith and concern with all of us, and the strength he found in that faith. We followed along with him through his long and painful journey through the maze of oncology, and in all that time he did not complain, moan or bitch about how unfair it was, how much of an emotional and physical strain it was. He still posted cheerful and positive messages.

He was a very remarkable person with strong convictions. I am proud to consider him one of the best friends I have that I've never met in person.

And I've said it before: This shows that once again, God takes the good ones first. This is why Jesse Helms is still stalking the Earth.

I just wish he had an e-mail address where he is now. I know I'd like to tell him again how much we will miss him."

HelenWheels: Damnit...now I'm crying all over again.

AliBaba: Thank you, Val
