"REACHING THE UNREACHED IN SOUTHEASTERN AFRICA”

YOU Can Help IMB MISSIONARIES in SOUTHEASTERN AFRICA

We are looking for teams to do what God has gifted them to do.   God can use ANY Child of His to carry the Gospel to those who need it. If you are a Christian you have gifts. If you would like to use those gifts, write to us and we will work with you to develop a trip that will honor the Lord, bless hurting people in South Africa, and the Kingdoms of Lesotho and Swaziland, and it will change your life.   We especially need people who can do “urban evangelism” and help us “determine where God is at work” among our people groups.  There are a variety of other needs as well!! The following are some examples of how Volunteers can help in the work here.

Urban Evangelism

Eastern Johannesburg, South Africa:

Four teams, of 4 to 6 people each, needed in March, April, June and July to assist the EGET Team in “determining where God is a work” in Gauteng (how’tang) Province, which is a “melting-pot of Southern Africa”.  The missionary team leader will train and lead you to interview/witness to people to determine if they are "born again Christians", and/or “responsive to the Gospel”.  People will be saved, and the results will be used to develop strategy for reaching the many people groups in this area.  Email Chuck Barrett at cabarrett@iafrica.com, or Richard Miller at bimsvol@iafrica.com for more information.

Durban, South Africa:

Three teams, of 3 to 8 people each, needed between March and October for outreach in a multiracial/multicultural environment, which characterizes Durban, and/or focusing on the AIDS pandemic that is destroying Southern Africa.  The missionary team will help you customize a trip that matches the giftedness of your team.  Email Roger Hesch at rmhesch@hotmail.com, or Richard Miller at bimsvol@iafrica.com for more information.

Durban, South Africa:

Three teams, of 2 to 8 people each, needed in March, August, and October, to walk with missionaries through this multiracial/multicultural city and pray against “spiritual strongholds” in areas where churches are being planted.  You will contact/witness to those people God has appointed for these encounters.  You will also pray for the Church in Durban, and join them in Praise and Worship.  Email Roger Hesch at rmhesch@hotmail.com, or Richard Miller at bimsvol@iafrica.com for more information.

Phoenix Community, Durban, South Africa:

One team of 6 to 12 people needed in June-July to conduct a Holiday Bible Club (VBS) in Phoenix Baptist Church, and to reach out into the surrounding community, which is made up of lower-middle class Asian Indians (mostly Hindus).  You will have a wonderful multicultural experience as you live and interact with Church Members. Email Roger Hesch at rmhesch@hotmail.com, or Richard Miller at bimsvol@iafrica.com for more information.

Pietermaritzburg and Durban, South Africa:

Three teams, of 3 to 8 people each, needed in March, June, and October to walk through these two multiracial/multicultural cities to determine where God wants to start new churches.  The missionary team will train and lead you to interview/witness to people to determine if they are "born again Christians", and/or “responsive to the Gospel”.  People will be saved, and the results will be used to develop strategy for reaching the many people groups in this area.  Email Roger Hesch at rmhesch@hotmail.com, or Richard Miller at bimsvol@iafrica.com for more information.

Baptist Mission of South Africa’s (BM) Bethany Bible School:

Four teams, of 1 to 2 people each, needed in March, June, August and October to teach church members and leaders the “disciplines” needed to evangelize in their communities, and to start churches.  You will teach one, or more two-hour sessions with 10-20 students per day, for five days.  Students will be Asian Indians who speak English.  Schedules can be customized to meet your needs and capabilities.  Email Roger Hesch at rmhesch@hotmail.com, or Richard Miller at bimsvol@iafrica.com for more information.

BM Revivals in and around Durban, SA:

One team of 1 to 6 people needed in October to Preach, Pray and Counsel during Revivals in BM churches.  The Revivals represent a recommitment of this association of Baptists to greater effectiveness in “soul winning” after 100 years of service in South Africa.  Spirit-filled preaching, fervent intercession, and Godly counseling are needed to impact this community for Christ.  Email Roger Hesch at rmhesch@hotmail.com, or Richard Miller at bimsvol@iafrica.com for more information.

Western Johannesburg, South Africa:

Various teams, of 1 to 6 people each, needed throughout the year to assist missionaries in “planting churches” throughout Western Gauteng (how’tang) Province, which is a “melting-pot of Southern Africa”.  The team leader will work with you to customize a volunteer project that is God Honoring, and fits your giftedness.  Email Kurt Holiday at cabarrett@iafrica.com, or Richard Miller at bimsvol@iafrica.com for more information.
