Typhus

The Traveler, Herald of Nurgle, Host of the Destroyer Hive

When Mortarion, Primarch of the Death Gaurd, allied his Legion with the forces of Warmaster Horus he did not know the price the would be paid for his decision. One amungst the Death Gaurd knew full well though, his name was Typhon and he had been recruited like so many others into Mortarion's forces on the feral world of Barbarus where the Primarch grew up. Barbarus was home not only to men but also to inhuman overlords that preyed upon them. Typhon had some of their blood in his veins for he was possesed with formidable latent psychic powers that made him especially valuable as a recruit. Even as Mortarion led his Death Gaurd on the Emperor's Great Crusade Typhon communed with the dark powers.

Typhon rose to the rank of Captain, commander of the battleship 'Terminus Est' and a full company of the Death Gaurd. When the Death Gaurd joined Horus it was he who slew the Death Gaurds Navigators claiming their loyalty was still to the Emperor. It was he who promised Mortarion that his powers could lead the Death Guard through the Warp to Terra and it was he who led them to damnation, becalmed in the Warp, adrift and helpless.

When the Destroyer Plague came and the Death Gaurd for all their resilience were struck down Typhon recieved hiw reward from his true master, Nurgle, Lord of Decay. As the last members of the Death Gaurd fell, Typhon absorbed the full power of this most terrible plague. His body became a vessel for the ultimate corruption, his armor became a hive of pestilence. He was Typhon no longer, now he was Typhus, Herald of Nurgle and the host of the Destroyer Hive.

In the Eye of Terror Mortarion shaped his Daemon World to resemble Barbarus. Typhus was sickened by the sentimentality. His loyalty was to Nurgle and Nurgle waxed strong when mortals feared death. Taking his ship and his followers Typhus returned again and again to the mortal realm and the legend of the traveller, the Herald of Nurgle was born. The rewards granted him by Nurgle are testament to a score of blighted worlds and countless damned souls.

Armor of Pestilence

The armor that Typhus wears is so diseased that when it is struck large puffs of poison fumes leap from it. When in hand to hand combat with another, if the plauge material is breathed or allowed to touch skin it will erode any living tissue within seconds.

Manreaper

This rusted and corrupted blade has been dipped in the filth seeping from Nurgle Throne, and in doing so absorbed the essence of one of the Daemons that covort there. The weapon is a large Sythe, a cut from the weapon will result in aggrivated damage and as well disease sets into the wound immidiately and will spread vigorously.

Warp Talisman

This amulet gives the owner the ability to attempt any failed magic attacks. It may only be used once per battle.

Daemonic Essence

This gift from Grandfather Nurgle allows Typhus to continue on even after a mortal wound is struck. However after the second Mortal wound Typhus will die. This ability is innate.

Daemonic Visage

Typhus is a awe striking figure to behold on the battle field and strikes fear into even the most fortified minds. This is a gift from Grandfather Nurgle and is innate.

Magic Abilities

All of Typhus's magic abilities are Mid Level attacks. The strength of them are all the same yet the results vary.

Winds of Chaos

Like Ahriman Typhus can use this attack as well. However the only attribute Typhus can give this attack is the essence of the Plague that he carries with him.

Affliction

Through magical principles lost to man Typhus is able to bestow a contagion upon his foe. A prayer before casting is necissary for Grandfather Nurgle to help in the deadliness of the disease.

Miasma of Pestilence

Typhus calls upon swarms of flies and locust when this ability is used. The insects do little damage unless used in conjuction with Affliction. However visibility is taken down to zero while the spell is in effect.
