Family Reunion History

Our grandparents raised a very large and close-knit family. The Rogers Family has maintained the connection to the original brothers and sisters by hosting a family reunion every other year. These reunions have been in Colorado and Nebraska. We have been to the YMCA Camp of the Rockies, Halsey National Forest 4-H Camp in Nebraska, Pieper’s home in Grand Island, and many, many times at the Wagon Wheel Ranch in Yuma, Colorado. Please plan to join your cousins for the reunion in June in Brush, Colorado at the Jaycee Building in Memorial Park.

A Little About Grandpa James Madison Rogers...

"Grandpa James Rogers fed cattle for Bob Linville in DeWitt, Missouri. His sister Betty married Bob Linville. Grandpa worked for Linville’s before he moved to Nebraska. When Grandpa and Grandma moved to Nebraska, they lived on Uncle Henry Kelly’s place, Aunt Mary’s husband, southwest of Berwyn. Thomas Benjamin was three years old when they moved to this farm.” From Bonnie Rogers—1976

Rogers History

Martha Elizabeth Bowlin Rogers was born on July 25, 1872 in Graham, Missouri to James Marian Bowlin and Lucinda Ann Linville.

James Marian Bowlin was from Kentucky. We have little written information on him.

Lucinda Ann Linville was born on February 17, 1850 and died on April 30, 1918.

James Madison Rogers was born on February 15, on 1868 or 1870 in DeWitt, Missouri. He died on January 23, 1943. James William Rogers was Grandpa’s father. His mother was Sarah Denton and we believe she was born in Ireland.

James and Martha Rogers are buried in Broken Bow, Nebraska.
