JOHN C "Darwin" CHUMLEY was born February 09, 1875, Dekalb County Alabama
and died February 13, 1962 in Etowah County Alabama at the home of his daughter Mrs Rena Clark . He is the son of Marion Baxter Chumley according to his death certificate.
and Mary Catherine Grogan Chumley.

His mother Mary Catherine Grogan died 10 days after he was born. His father still had other small children at home. So his Grandmother Grogan took the infant home and raised him.

John married CORDALIE "Delie" SAVANNAH CASH May 19, 1894 in Halford Dekalb County, Alabama.
according to a family register
She was born December 07, 1879, and died January 25, 1959 and is also buried in Dekalb County , Mt Flat Cemetary.
She is the daughter of Joseph Lindsey Cash and Celia Perry according to her death certificate. His second wife was Josie Cash.
