TABLO (Tepeleki, Tapla, Koursi)

A round ornament which sat at the top of a women's forehead, and tied under the back of the neck. There were three styles

1) Silver disk

2) Sown in patterns with gold string

3) With rows of gold coins comming into a centeral spiral

 

The Brass or Copper Tablos is made from a press or stamped image, mainly a flower like design Click to enlarge A picture of a Pontian women showing how the Tablo is worn.
Similar in the design as a silver disk, the hand sown has a more elegant look and feel. A demonstration of a Tablo made up of Coins. The reflection gave this a more rich look.
