TARAPOULOZ

The tarapouloz is the belt that some women and men wore to, not only keep there clothes together but also to help support the back. Was made of fine silk and cotton material. The most distinctive part was the handing tassels which sat on one side of the material.

In this picture on the left we have a close up view of what a Tarapouloz looked like.

The Tarapouloz, sat nicely and firmly around a women's waste. After being folded in a triangle the longest end would sit at the back part of the woman. The Tarapouloz was either tucked into each other, pined together or folded over itself, like a rolled up sleeve (just the other way).

In this picture on the right we can see what a Tarapouloz looked like from behind.
