Our family genealogy historian, Bob Thompson, includes the following information;
Prior to what can be confirmed, before Andrew Jackson Pittser's, arrival on the scene ..... the following is how we believe the family chain started as far as we have been able to trace it.
Matthias Bitzer/Pitzer and Margaret ____?____; Conrad Bitzer and Maria Barbara Hauser;
Jakob Bitzer and Katherina Conzelman; Hans Bitzer and Anna ____?____
(Anna's name may have been Conzelman also, but I don't want to over commit myself at this time.)
PICTURED ABOVE; IS Andrew Jackson Pittser, who descended down from the youngest of the Brothers, Matthias Bitzer (who through varying spelling hardships with Z's and misspellings on documents and citizenship papers became PITZER). Matthias and wife, Margaret had 9 children: Andrew (abt. 1773), Conrad (abt. 1775), *JOHN (Jan. 26, 1777), Michael (1778), Mathias (Feb. 15, 1781), Jacob (abt. 1785), William (March 12, 1790), James D. (July 8, 1792), Samuel (abt. 1795).

JACKSON PITTSER Was the son of the
above mentioned *JOHN PITZER, AND ELIZABETH PIPER/PIFER. Together
Andrew Jackson Pittser (as the name again underwent a change from Pitzer to
Pitser to Pittser) and Mahala Jane Ratcliff (June 27, 1818 -
Highland Co., OH) had 4 children: (some of which are pictured below); Edom
Riley (Oct. 10, 1842 - Highland County, Ohio), John Andrew (Mar. 9,
1844 - Highland County, OH.), George Washington (Jan. 22, 1848 - Clinton
County, OH.), William S. (Nov. 23, 1851 - Clinton County, OH), Mahala
(Haley) Jane (Mar. 26, 1856 - Howard County, IN.).
(NOTE; Mahala, A.J.
Pittser's 1st wife died a few months after the birth of their daughter, Haley.)
ANDREW JACKSON PITTSER 2nd MARRIAGE was to; Millison (Bishop) Lamb (b. abt. 1825 - Kentucky). They were married Nov. 27, 1856 in Clinton Co., Indiana. Together they had 5 children: Sarah Cora (Mar. 22, 1858 - Howard Co., IN), Andrew Hamilton (Sep. 2, 1859 - Howard Co., IN), Rachel Elizabeth (abt. 1862 - IN), Albert Thomas (Sep. 12, 1865 - Delmont, MO), and James William (Bill) Lewis (Mar. 18, 1871 - Cross Timbers, MO).
