The Pieces of Dreams Registry, which I like to call POD, officially opened on my 59th birthday, October 1, 2003. After years of volunteer searching, before the advent of the Internet, I am excited to utilize this amazing innovation that has literlly changed the world, to further advance the reuniting of adoptees with their birthfamilies.
In just the last few years, millions of websites have been launched, and I have seen registries come and go. It is hoped that the POD Registry will be here for many years to come. And, whether it is used by 50 seekers or 500,000, or more, the successes will be motivation enough to keep me dedicated to the cause.
I have reunited many that I know of, and possibly more that I was never told about. Most reunions went very well, and some not so well. But, even in cases where it didn't go so well, the not knowing seems to have been harder to deal with than the ultimate disappointment. So, it was not a total loss, and has not dampened my enthusiasm to continue to try to help.
If you have any ideas for how I can make this website better, please do not hesitate to let me know. I am learning new things about adoptions and searching every day, and I'm sure that I still have a lot more to learn.
It is my hope and prayer that this website will be a blessing to those who search here, and the wonderful search angels who tread here are just as dedicated to helping to make dreams come true. There aren't words to express my gratitude to them for their help in the past, and in putting this website together.
The Links pages are still under construction, and the Stories page is in the process of being set up. Of course, there won't be any stories to tell until we get some visitors, so I'm hoping that will happen soon.
Best of luck to everyone searching. I am dedicating this website to my foster children, Jeremy (my first), April, Crystal, Heather, Oscar, Bailey, D.J., Jamie, Jeffrey, Maria, Josette and David, who will always remain a part of my family in my heart, and to my own precious daughter, Dina, who is with the angels watching over us all.
Blessings,
Amy
