Volunteers

A big thanks goes out to Mr. Dave Bednash and his family for volunteering his time to be our new Committee Chairman.  Make a difference in a boys life...VOLUNTEER.

Popcorn Sales

Our annual fundraiser has begun as of September 4, 2007.  All registered scouts should have received their popcorn sales packet in the mail.  If you have not, please contact Mr. Dave Bednash at bednashd@aol.com or 351-8608.   Remember each scout is required to sell popcorn at Pick Kwik or Ace Hardware.  When the dates for selling at those locations are confirmed, we will distribute a sign up sheet.

We want you!

To effectively run our pack, we still need several parent volunteers to share the fun.  Please consider getting involved in your son's Cub Scout experience as a Leader or as a volunteer for a specific event. You and your son will gain a lifetime of memories.

Volunteers needed in the following areas:

Contact Tom Hollatz HOLLATZ1@COVAD.NET to volunteer.

News for PARENTS:

Scout Pride

Boys are encouraged to wear their scout UNIFORM to school on their Den or Pack Meeting Day. This promotes membership and an awareness of scouting.

BSA Policy Update

There are several important policies we need to make everyone aware of:

1. No smoking in front of children

2. No alcohol at BSA sponsored events

And as a gentle reminder, Scout Parents who invite other families to events are expected advise guests of these policies. Thank you for your understanding!

At least one leader, co-leader or parent from each den needs to attend to help set direction and plan the fun for our boys. If you cannot attend a particular meeting, please contact our Cub Master, Paula Winfield.   Her email is paulawinfield@sbcglobal.net.

District Round Table Meeting

The second Thursday of each month is our district roundtable. All Den/Patrol leaders are encouraged to attend the monthly district Round Table meeting at the Technology Center of DuPage in Addison. (The Tech. Center of DuPage is located at the College of DuPage, 301 South Swift Rd, in Addison.) This is a good opportunity for leaders to share new ideas with leaders from other packs.

 Den Advancement Reports

All Den/Patrol leaders must give their advancement reports to Julie Wawczak by the first day of the monthReports can be written on the appropriate paper form or emailed directly to Julie at tjbwawczak@aol.com

Leaders are gently reminded to only report advancements after the scout has actually earned their requirement. Julie enters the advancements in our Cub master software. Once our data is transmitted to Council, it is very difficult to undo an award.
