Mexico Vivo Dance Company was founded in Las Vegas, Nevada on May of 1995 by Ixela Gutierrez to preserve and share the heritage traditional richness of the Mexican and Latin-American folk dances, and works in cooperation with Clark County CLASS ACT program since 1997, bringing "LIVE ART IN THE SCHOOLS", and Ollimpaxqui Ballet Company from Dallas TX. With this sister company we received the Greatest honor to be invitated for two years in a row to dance at the White House for President Bush.

MEXICO VIVO D.C is renown for their magnificent talent, energy, and creativity, as well as for the variety and versatility of their repertoire, including the creation of special productions for children. Winchester Theater has been the house of MEXICO VIVO D.C since September of 1997 and since then more than twenty different theatrical productions has been created specialty for that facility plus other special productions and various performance for private Businesses and Corporations.

MEXICO VIVO D.C. has become a dance company that is number one in their style and most representative in this city, and nationally MEXICO VIVO D.C is among the twenty most important and active dance companies of its kind.

The social and cultural labor of this group which has been accomplished every year since day one it is well recognized. They have made History in the state of Nevada being the first dance company it's unique style and performance.

The company offers educational activities, and develops field, and ethnomusicology research in Mexico to gain a deeper knowledge in Mexican and Latin-American traditional dances, this latter in collaboration with the M.A. Edith Ortiz Diaz from the Institute of Anthropologic Investigations -UNAM, the Ph.D. Candidate Gerardo Gutierrez from the Department of Anthropology, The Pennsylvania State University and Eduardo Gutierrez Artistic Director of Ollimpaxqui Ballet in Dallas TX.
