Don't Think All is Well

If you have silver amalgam fillings in your mouth, don’t think all is well if you go to your dentist and and he says everything is fine. I ran into an old school chum today at Kroger’s, who said her dentist of many years in Bedford says, “All is well.”

Unfortunately, mercury fillings don’t last indefinitely. But I forgot to tell her that fact. According to the biological dentist I visited, the tooth often starts decaying under the mercury filling after five years. Also, mercury- filled teeth have cracks in them from the mercury expanding and contracting in the teeth. When mercury is in a thermometer, it expands and contracts according to the temperature. Mercury in your mouth does the same thing; expands and contracts according the hot and cold things you eat or drink. In the process it cracks your teeth. Some biological dentists will take pictures of your teeth so you can see the cracks.

Mercury-free dentists do not like replacing old mercury fillings because they know how dangerous it is to take them out. So some dentists just have a tendency to leave them in. Other dentists will take them out and replace them with the “white” fillings-composites, resins, etc. But in the process of taking out the mercury, you are being exposed to vapor if that dentist is not giving you an alternative source of air for you to breathe. Some dentists will take out part of a mercury filling and just put a white filling over top of it. That still leaves mercury in the tooth.

So don’t think all is well when your mercury dentist looks at your metal mouth and tells you that everything is "fine."
