Lucy has won Best Pop album of 2001 from the Association for Independent Music (AFMI). This makes two albums in a row for her!! (TYN won in 1999). Congratulations Lucy!!!!
Lucy will be featured on the Early Show, tomorrow (Monday, March 11) to commemorate the 6 month anniversary of the attacks. She will be performing her new song, Land of the Living. It will be on from 7-9 and she is expected to perform around 8:30.
To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Fast Folk Musical Magazine there is a brand new 2-cd compilation cd. Lucy contributes a cover of You Just Need a Home.

Lucy premiered a new song in Scotland on Dec 8, she had previously played a portion of it last month in Denver. According to an audience member, it is Lucy's response to the September 11th events and the chorus contains the lyrics, "The Land of the Living." Lucy is found on Richard Shindell's new live album "Courier" She sings background vocals on many of the songs. The cd won't be available in stores until February 12 but you can order it now from Signature Sounds and for a limited time, if you order 2 copies, you also will recieve a bonus, limited EP will 5 extra songs on it.
Last night at the Bottom Line in NYC, Lucy took part in a "healing show" along with about 20 other artists. She sang 2 songs, Don't Mind Me and Ten Year Night along with group sing-a-longs. Other artists that took part incuded-Cliff Eberhardt, Tom Chapin, Jill Sobule, Christine Lavin, Pheobe Snow, The Kennedy's and many more! This was a free concert to help bring back some happiness to the New York City area after the September 11th tradgedy.
Lucy can be found on the cover of this months Acoustic Live. It's a fantastic story that traces back the history of our *star* and is appropriately titled "The Inevitable Rise of Lucy Kaplansky". I just discovered a song that Lucy did with Darryl Purpose called Ring on My Hand. You can download it through Yahoo here. It is a beautiful wedding song that makes me want to get married just so I can dance at it!!
