It is quite a privilege to have a real friend. I personally believe they are few and far between. Friends should care for one another. The bond should be great enough that small irritations could be over looked. There is not one among us who is perfect.
A friend doesn't ask if there is a need. A real friend senses and sees that need without having to be asked. They help with that need because they want to. A real friend prays for you. They never let you down.

It is really so easy to be a friend. So have you ever wondered as I have, "Why aren't there more true friends?"
A friend is one of God's precious jewels. A very rare thing indeed! If by chance you should have one of these precious jewels as a friend, treat them with the utmost care. To have a friend, you must first be a friend. You must be willing to stand by them in their time of need as you would want them to be there for you in your time of need.
My husband and I experienced having two such rare jewels in the darkest hours of our life right after hearing of our son's death. There they were, right beside us with their love and support, their prayers, their arms to hold us and food to sustain us. God placed these two rare jewels in our life a few short years ago. He could look down the corridors of time and knew that we would need two friends such as they are. With their help we made it through a very difficult time. This is written in honor of those two rare jewels, our friends, Jesse and Margaret Garrison.
