- Kensson's real name is Colin Beveridge.
- His first gig was at The Seven Stars, in Twyford, Bucks, two days after he graduated from university.
- His first proper gig was at Aikmans in St. Andrews, in October 2001.
- He was born in Edinburgh on November 15th 1977. At the time of writing that makes him a 26-year-old Scorpio.
- Kensson does not believe in astrology.
- He is a rocket scientist and has a PhD in maths.

- Kensson once sang in a heavy metal band called Silicon Avatar but left to pursue new musical directions (such as upwards.)
- Kensson wrote his first song in or around 1992. It was called The Back of my Mind.
- The title A Bright Cold Day in April is taken from the first line of George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty Four.
- Kensson's father is called Ken.
