Joey Errigo is a performing songwriter who hails from upstate New York. In the early '90's she played acoustic bass and sang lead and harmony vocals with "newgrass" band Tamarack. During this time the band made it to the finals in the prestigious Winterhawk Bluegrass Festival Contest for two consecutive years. In pursuit of a solo career, she migrated to Florida in 1997, joined the FRIENDS OF FLORIDA FOLK, and was a winner of the Best Florida Song contest in the 1998 Will McLean Folk Fesival in Dade City, with her song "The Last Frontier". In 1998 Joey relocated to Register, Ga. where she began writing in earnest.

In 1999, she traveled to N.C. for Merlefest to win a new guitar and other goodies in the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest with her gospel co-write, "Church Building". In 2002, "Church Building"was covered by the Nashville based band Heartstrings on their debut CD "Heartstrings".

Joey's momentum continued in 2000 when she not only won the Suwannee Springfest Songwriting Contest in Live Oak, Fl., with her songs "Little Sparrow" and "New Spring Dress", but was also selected as a finalist at the world-renowned Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Contest in Kerrville, Tex. Her songs "Same Old Blues" and "Fly Away" were chosen from over 600 entries.

Joey's first all original CD, "Paradise Motel", released late in 2000, includes these award winning songs, as well as two others that have been collected on compilation CD's; Oasis Sampler #30 -"Storm of the Century", Friends of Florida Folk Songwriter Sampler 2002 -"Paradise Motel", and Savannah Folk Music Society First Friday Sampler -"Storm of the Century". The "Paradise Motel" Cd Has received favorable reviews, indie radio airplay, and was voted one of the top CD's of 2000 by George Graham of WVIA in Pennsylvania.

Other original songs on included on collections, (but not on "Paradise Motel)," include "Mountain of Sorrow" on F.O.F.F.'s 2003 CD "This is America", "The Old Mobile Home Place" on the S.F.M.S.'s 2003 First Friday Sampler, and "Fully Self Contained" on Live from Loch Haven 1998. These songs will be included on Joey's next CD....hopefully to be released in 2004.

NEWS FLASH! Nashville based Bluegrass band Heartstings is including Joey's "New Spring Dress" on their 2004 release!

Joey recently made a move to Zephyrhills, Florida where she continues to write songs, paint, and perform in a variety of venues.
