Memorial Day
Graveside Flag Replacement

When: Memorial Day Weekend

Sponsored by: Jewish War Veteran Post 142, Stamford, CT and
the Connecticut Yankee Council Jewish Committee on Scouting

Each year Scouts and Scouters join together to replace the American Flags at the gravesides of War Veterans at several local cemetaries.  These flags become worn over the course of a year as a result of exposure to the weather.

Each year, at our annual Kinus, flags that are no longer a fitting emblem for display are retired in a dignified way as specified by the United States Code Title 36. . By honoring the memory of our country's veterans and showing respect for the flag, the Scouting tradition of duty to G-d and Country is passed to another generation.

Please contact us if you or your Scouting unit would like to participate this year.
