Hello from the Salamone Side of the Family!

I came across this site in 2006.  I was curious about the old building at 110^th Street.  I think I typed the address into my browser, and low and behold, my grandfather and Uncle Joe stared back at me!

At the time, the latest blog entry was 2004, and the email link to you (Joey) did not work.  So, I check back from time to time  Well, it seems that you’ve been here recently.

I am Marie, Beatrice’s daughter … lived upstairs from you on the 2nd floor … next to Aunt Antoinette and Uncle Joe. My brother, Anthony, is your godson (confirmation).  Lots of wonderful memories …. 

I hope you look at this before Christmas!  Christmas 2008, that is!

I'm William Joseph Tobia, son of John Peter Tobia.

I now live in Tucson Arizona where I moved 19 years ago. I just wanted to see if this works or not. If it works I will make more comments from time to time.

Hi Billy,

You are the son of John and Louise?  You have a sister named Antoinette?  If so, I remember you as a child.    

My mother, Beatrice, and your dad were first cousins.  My grandmother was a Tobia, and she and your grandfather were sister and brother.  My grandfather was a Salamone.

My mom and your dad remained close until she became ill and passed away in ’99 at the age of 88.  She was very fond of him.  I remember when she would phone me and say, “My cousin Johnny is taking me to lunch.”  It made her so happy.

Whenever your father visited, we had lots of laughs.  I can still remember him terrorizing me … he would put his jacket on backward and pretend he was Frankenstein.  LOL

There does not seem to be much action on this wonderful blog that my cousin Joe put together, so it was nice to see your post.

Anyway, I do check back every so often.  Bye for now.

Billy is indeed son of John and Louise. I'm his son Dylan. The frankenstein thing sounds exactly like my grampa :)
