Convention Education |
Anyone wishing to host a meeting please contact one of the Education Committee members.The meetings usually follow this schedule:
10:00-11:00 General Meeting
11:00-12:00 Education (CEUs accredited)
12:00-12:30 Lunch with Vendor Corner (optional). This will be followed by a tour of the meeting site, if suitable. If there is any unfinished business from the board meeting, it will be concluded at this point.
To host a meeting, provide a meeting place for 15-30 people. Packer Valley Chapter meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month. Board approval is needed if an alternate date needs to be chosen. The host(ess) should provide one hour of education. The topic needs to meet the criteria set forth by IEHA. Check the www.ieha.org website and click on Education for more information. The chapter education committee is available to assist with topic approval and/or selection. There will be a presentation of Certificate of Appreciation and a photo taken at the end. A short biography is to be written and read for the introduction of the presenter(s).
There will be no display of products or equipment during the educational portion of the meeting.
Provide a complimentary light lunch or a lunch with the designated cost announced in the meeting notice. Lunch can be on site or a short drive off site with prior notification and arrangements.
The Vendor Corner portion of the meeting is an option during lunch. Vendors are to be chapter members or an advertiser in the Winning Edge newsletter. Vendors may share their latest product, equipment trend or ideas, anything they feel appropriate. Manufacturer representatives or family members may come along. If there is no Vendor Corner, roundtable discussion can be done during lunch. this could be a time fo discussion for resoluton of a particular job related problem.
Arrange a tour of the meeting facility if appropriate. This is optional, as we do not want to violate any security regulations or client confidentiality.
