Donovan Philips Leitch, more commonly know as 'Donovan' is an Glasgow born musician, who came to fame in early 1965 after appearing on a series of showcase TV shows in Britain.

After signing up with American Epic Records he developed an eclectic but very successful style that blended folk, jazz , pop , psychedelia and world music .

In the late sixties and early seventies Donavan quickly became one of the most famous British musicians of his time, and was close friends with the Beatles.

Donovan's musical slowly fell out of favour as the 'flower power' age died, and with the introduction of grunge rock his gentle music became known as 'hippie' music.

Donovan is still famous for his 'hippie' musical and mostly nonsensical lyrics, songs such as 'Mellow Yellow' and 'First There Is A Mountain'
