1. Go to this URL http://www.truthorfiction.com/
2. While you are on the web page, Either Bookmark this web page OR add a shortcut to the desktop so you can get to the page as soon as you get one of these Emails you need to verify BEFORE you send the information to everyone on your list. You will be proud to know that "You" have contributed to "Breaking the Chain" of false information.
Let's take a look at this screenshot because if you click
"OK" for every web site you bookmarked, you
would never find what you need. You can create Folders so
you can organize the web pages. To create a new
folder--> Click on "New Folder"--->
Name the folder--->Click "OK"---> The folder on your list will be
opened--->Click "OK" to save the web page
URL to your Folder.
Now you have a
Shortcut on the Destop where you have easy access
to verify the Email rumors
3. Verifying the Email - Now that you have easy access to the
Web site to verify the Email rumors, How do you verify them
before you hit the Forward key to send it to everyone on your
list?. Look at the "Subject of the Email". Usually
Email rumors have a particular Subject. You can highlight and
copy the Subject. For example: Subject: Important Info Re: Using Public Restrooms . Highlight two words of the
subject, (What I have in red color)---> Click on the Shortcut
on the Desktop---> This will open the web page. Click on the
text, "Search"
------> Right click and PASTE the Subject in the "Search"
window.
----
>
Click
"GO". This will bring you to the link
to verify the Email Rumor so you can verify if it's Truth or
Fiction .
Click on the URL and read the
Information to verify it. If it's Fiction, reply to the person
who sent the URL to you so HOPEFULLY they can send it to others they had
sent it to in order tp stop the RUMOR If it's True, send the URL
on to others to help them pass the TRUE information to others.
