This section will provide you with everything you need to know about the day of the concert. All of the basic information is here about what to bring, what to expect, etc. But first....
Some Mad Shout Outs and Shameless Promotion
OK, now for some basic information:
The fourth annual "Colleen's Naked Groove Fest" will be held from 2 PM to about 10:30 PM on SATURDAY, AUGUST 4th (MARK YOUR CALENDERS). What is Colleen's Naked Groove Fest? It's a concert/block party featuring live rock, folk, hip hop, and ethnic music by some talented folks, as well as a great opportunity to socialize and have some fun.
WHY IS IT CALLED COLLEEN'S NAKED GROOVE FEST?
Well, in the past it's been held at Colleen's house and she is one of the founders of the concert, so that explains that part. Naked because it's fun to be naked (though no one there will actually be naked, as far as I know....). Groove because there will be lots of groovy tunes to get your groove on with. Fest because it's festive.
WHERE IS THE CONCERT HELD?
This year the concert is going to be held at the house of veteran Groovefest performer Jesse Myers in Woodbine, Maryland. Click here for directions.
HOW MUCH IS THIS GONNA COST ME?
Well, potentially, nothing. In the past the concert has been FREE and I intend to stick with that policy so that many people can come and enjoy the show. However, a donation of a couple of bucks is highly encouraged. The only way this concert happens is through the generosity of donations. Likewise, we will be selling copies of the tape of last year's show for around $5.00. All proceeds go to paying for the concert.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
A blanket and/or lawn chair, any food or beverage you would like because picnicking is encouraged (Ice water will be available there and there will be an open grill all day long for you to cook on), possibly a swimsuit or clothes to get wet in, and be prepared to HAVE FUN!
