In a world of untold misery/suffering and the large gap between the haves and the have-nots nagging our hearts, activities and the functioning of Mar Gregorios Orthodox Student Movement, Orthodox Student Center Trivandrum and Mar Gregorios Orthodox Christian Mercy Fellowship Trivandrum in particular inspired us in a big way. This brought together a few committed families (who were just unknowns to each other) with a quest to strengthen their spiritual/philanthropic commitments.

Similar views/opinions were shared, it necessitated a common platform to act and speak as one strong body and voice. We cannot change the whole world but were sure that we will make a difference by first beginning from our homes. Our hopes and vision became a reality and brought our humble endeavourers recognitions. H.G. Philipose Mar Esebius, President of Mar Gregorios Orthodox Christian Students Movement (MGOCSM) of India granted us patronage and identified GOCF as the friends of MGOCSM in Muscat, a great honor and responsibility bestowed on GOCF.

By the Grace of God Almighty, We have disbursed donations ranging from IRs.2,500/- to IRs.20,000/- totalling to IRs.1,01,000/- to various charitable institutions of Malankara Orthodox Church and individuals irrespective of cast or creed during the end of first financial year in December 2001. In the year 2002 also we could enhance the total donations disbursed to IRs.1,71,000/-
