In the name of God Amen, I Peachy R. Taliaferro of Copiah County and State of Mississippi being of sound mind and disposing memory do make this my last will and testament hereby revoking all and every other will or wills by me heretofore made.

In the first place, I give and commend my soul to that almighty and merciful God who formed it and my body to the earth therein decently to be intered.

In the second place, it is my will and desire and I do hereby appoint Richard Henry Taliaferro, my oldest son, and Samuel J. Morehead executors of this my last will and testament injoining it upon them to carryout the same in every particular and that they be not required to give security.

In the third place, it is my will and desire that my said executors keep all my slaves together on the plantation where I now reside known as Spring Hill, and work them and apply the annual proceeds of their labors on said plantation to the payment of my debts ? in all my just debts are paid off unless they shall think it preferable after the lapse of three years being employed in making crops and applying the proceeds as aforesaid to sell property for the payment of any debts that may remain.

In the fourth place, it is my will and desire that after all my debts are paid as heretofore provided that one third of my whole property, real, personal, rights, credits, and effects be given to my beloved wife, Sarah F. Taliaferro, in her own right and that one third of my whole property, real, personal, rights, credits, and effects be given to and be held and owned in his own rights by said oldest son Richard Henry Taliaferro herein before named as one of my executors and that the remaining one third of my whole property, real, personal, rights, credits, and effects be given to and be divided equally between my two children namely Sarah Fran Taliaferro and Charles Adams Taliaferro and that in addition to what I have heretofore given to my daughter Mary Peachy Brown and her husband, I give her and her said husband the thousand dollars which he owes me now and wholly quit and discharge them of the same.

In wittness whereas I have hereinto set my hand and seal the 8th day of May A.D. 1852.
