This indenture made and entered into this the 20th day of October 1899 by and between the heirs of Mrs. Mary Torrey parties of the first part - present - and the Trustees of Hickory Block Church and their successors, parties of the second part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00). Fifty dollars of which cash and in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged and the remainder one hundred dollars, evidenced by their four promissory notes of even date herewith, each for the sum of twenty five dollars bearing interest at the rate of 8 percent per annum from date until paid. Said notes drawn by said parties of the second part to the order of J. Edgar Torrey and due and payable December 20th 1900, 1901, 1902 and 1903 respectively, and each secured by a vendor lien of even date herewith on the property hereby conveyed the said parties of the first part do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey, and warrant unto the said parties of the second part and their successors the following described land lying and being situated in the county of Jefferson, state of Mississippi to wit. The NE 1/4 of SW 1/4 less ten acres off the North end and the S /2 of NW /4 of SW /4 Sec 9 T8 A and East containing fifty acres more or less. And more definitely described as beginning at a point on the Union Church and Fayette Public Road at the NW corner of the land on which the Hickory Block Church now stands and running North with said road to line of W. B. Alsworth thence south along said line to the line of McCallum thence west along said line to place beginning. Together with all and singular the eniments and appurtenances thence situated. Witness signatures on the day above written.
