She then went to Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA. She was graduated from the National College of Education in Evanston, IL, and received her teaching certificate there.
Mrs. Schildberg touched the lives of many children, teaching first grade in Erie schools for 25 years, retiring in 1981. Each of “her children” were special, evidenced by those who kept in touch with her until her death in 1992. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Hope Circle.
